A game is a list of rounds, and each round has its own format. Press Add round in the editor to pick one. Every plan has every format. Players always answer on their phones; in buzzer rounds a USB button works too.
The popular ones
Grid
A Jeopardy-style board of categories and point values. Teams pick a cell, and the first to buzz in answers. The bigger the value, the harder the question. It is the round most hosts build a night around. See The Grid round.
Multiple choice
A question and a few options on every phone. One or more can be right. Good for a warm-up: everyone answers every question. You can give more points to fast answers with Speed scoring, and take points off for a wrong one.
Type answer
Players type their answer. AmoQuiz accepts the answers you list under Also accept:, and with Check typed answers with AI on, it marks spelling slips and other wordings for you. You can always change a mark in Review answers. Answer sheet mode collects a whole round of answers at the end, like paper.
Stakes
Teams see the topic first and then choose how many points to play for, from 1 up to their whole score, or from fixed amounts you set. A right answer wins those points; a wrong answer, or none, loses them. A good last round: whoever is behind can still catch up.
Other formats
Buzzer race
The first to buzz in answers out loud and you judge. A wrong answer can lock that player out while the others try. Add a timer per question or per round.
Mixed
Each question has its own format, chosen from multiple choice, type answer, numbers, put in order, buzzer race and click on image.
Bingo
Every phone gets a card of items: songs, words, numbers. You call them, drawn at random or in your order, and players mark them. A full row and a full card earn the bonuses you set. Print tickets gives paper cards to guests without a phone.
Put in order
Arrange the options in the right order: by date, by size, by chart position. Only the exact order scores.
Top answers
A question with many right answers, each worth its own points, like a survey board. Teams buzz in, type, or answer in turns, and you reveal each answer as it is found.
Countdown
Clues to one answer appear one at a time. The sooner someone gets it, the more points.
Numbers
The answer is a number: a year, a height, a count. The closest answer scores the most, the next closest a little less, and so on.
Players tap a spot on a picture: a city on a map, a face in a crowd. The closer, the more points.
Biathlon
Series of five questions with two options each, where the right answer can be A, B, both or neither. Points climb with each question in the series.
Extras, with no score
Poll
A vote with no wrong answers, with the results live on the screen or revealed when you choose. Good for breaking the ice, or for “who is most likely to…” at a wedding.
Toss
A wheel or a reel on the big screen draws one item: who goes first, the next topic, a random team. A player can start the draw with their buzzer.
Music, pictures and video
There isn’t a separate music round: any round becomes one when its questions carry songs. See Music, pictures and video.
